Week 16 On Nutrisystem…Utilizing Weight Loss Counselors #NSNation #Ad

Week 16 on Nutrisystem is here, and I officially hit my first bump in the road so to speak.  Sometimes in the process of losing weight, you will hit a plateau or experience your weight loss slow down to what can feel like almost nothing at all.  Until the past week and this week, I had been pretty lucky and never saw a weekly loss under one lb.  This week I did manage to lose .6 lbs, but obviously not what I would’ve liked to have seen when I jumped on the scale.  My total loss so far is 22.8 lbs which is nothing to sneeze at for 15 weeks, so I am still incredibly happy with the progress that I have made.

Nutrisystem has a variety of different weight loss tools, one of them being weight loss counselors.  I had a chat with a counselor this week about the slow down in my loss.  Starting today, I am making two changes that I will keep consistent for one week and see how it goes.  The counselor had 2 suggestions: 1) switching my lunches and dinners so the higher calorie meal is in the middle of the day, and 2) adding in a smart carb and powerfuel because of the level of my activity.  I have to admit, I’m a little nervous adding in extra because it puts me at the higher end of my calorie range plan every day BUT the counselors are very wise and I’m willing to trust their suggestion.  Hopefully next week I will be able to share a larger loss than this week with you all thanks to the counselor guidance.

One thing I’m finding myself consistently thankful for (besides all of the wonderful help and guidance) is just how delicious the food is.  I never feel deprived, I love the way the meals taste, and there are tons of chocolatey options to keep a chocoholic like myself on track.  I post pictures almost every day on Instagram, make sure you’re following me so you can see more of the wonderful meals I get to eat 🙂 .  Follow me on Instagram @stephanyssweetlife .

Week 15 On Nutrisystem #NSNation #Ad

Week 15 on Nutrisystem is officially here and somehow each week I keep feeling better and better.  The food still tastes as good as ever, and I love trying out new meals here and there to mix things up and widen my horizons.  This week I didn’t see much movement in the scale, but that’s okay!  Some weeks there are fluctuations and I think I found the culprit of why I had a slow week.  I recently started chewing gum to help with sweet cravings, and just figured out there’s TONS of aspartame in the gum.  Some of you may know, but some of you won’t…aspartame is linked to weight gain not related to caloric intake.  So, lesson learned and I will just give up the gum and move forward.

Remember how I talked about non-scale victories last week?  This is another week where that comes in to play.  Although the scale only moved down 0.2 lbs, my body measurements went down this week so I can see that there is some change, even when the scale doesn’t reflect it.  I had to go clothes shopping this week again because all of the stuff I bought a couple months ago was too big.  Before starting Nutrisystem I couldn’t even squeeze myself into an xl.  Last time I went clothes shopping I bought a comfortable xl and this time a size large.  No ‘extra’ in there any more.  That’s an incredible feeling, and all I need to keep pushing forward.  One day, one ounce at a time.  That’s how we reach our goals people!

Week 14 On Nutrisystem…Measuring Success In Non-Scale Victories #NSNation #Ad

O_64b0fea1b7e98c5c5b71df2f84ff768cnutrisystem_logo

Week 14 following the Nutrisystem plan is here and I’m feeling FABULOUS!!  I have lost another 2 lbs this week for a total of 22 lbs!  If you ask me, I think that’s pretty freakin’ incredible.  I didn’t expect to lose this much at this point on my journey so I am incredibly pleased with the results that myself and my family and friends are noticing.

A great way to measure success are non-scale victories (NSV).  Something as simple as fitting into a pair of pants that were too tight a month ago or making healthier choices than you would’ve before can show huge amounts of stride for those of us who struggle.

This week a HUGE NSV for me was when I got dressed to go to the grocery store.  I had a pair of ‘skinny jeans’ that I had been dying to wear.  I put them on to see how they fit and to my surprise they fit fantastically well.  What felt even better was when I was walking around the store and had to keep tugging my pants upwards because they were slightly BIG!  WHAT?!?! I would’ve never expected that but as you can imagine I was so incredibly surprised…in a good way.  I can’t wait to see what else I can accomplish with Nutrisystem by my side, and I hope you all continue to follow my journey.

Week 13 On Nutrisystem…Learning To Live In The “Real” World #NSNation #Ad

O_64b0fea1b7e98c5c5b71df2f84ff768cnutrisystem_logo

Week 13 is officially here which means new progress to share, YAY!!  This week has been a fantastic week filled with walking and healthy choices.  As of this morning I have lost another 1.6 lbs to make my total for the first 12 weeks 20 lbs!  Can you believe it?!

While the weight loss is great, a big part of the Nutrisystem lifestyle is learning how to make the right choices in a world where temptation and junk food are literally on every corner.  I’m pretty lucky and don’t deal with that like most people do.  I live in a very rural area and it’s a 30 minute drive to the closest anything (store, doctor, hospital, fast food, etc.) along with a 5 mile trek of dirt roads to get to my house from the main highway.  This past week my willpower and decision making was put to the test.  My family and I took a road trip to Las Vegas for the day and had so much fun.  We went to the biggest mall I’ve ever seen and were there for 5 hours (and I still don’t think we found every store!), then we went to Toys R Us to let the kids have a mini-shopping spree, and finally we went to Chuck E. Cheese where the kids had an absolute blast.  I allowed myself to indulge within reason (I had to have a Starbucks frappuccino) along with making healthy decisions when we ate, and I was still able to see a higher than usual weight loss week, even having one day off plan.

I think it’s about that time where I share that always embarrassing ‘before’ photo with you all as well as my current progress picture.  With the loss being at 20 lbs now it’s a bit easier to see the difference, and it’s proof positive that if you just follow the Nutrisystem plan, IT WORKS!!!

Week 12 On Nutrisystem…Continuing With The Plan

O_64b0fea1b7e98c5c5b71df2f84ff768cnutrisystem_logo

Well, here I am week 12 on Nutrisystem, and I’m so pumped to be continuing the plan!  Initially I was just going to do the plan for 12 weeks, but I will be continuing on for another 12 weeks and I couldn’t be more excited!  In the first 11 weeks on the program I lost a total of 18.4 lbs which is incredible to me!  Before starting Nutrisystem it took me 3 years to VERY SLOWLY lose 27 lbs and then got stuck.  The plan is so incredibly effective, and I’ve often heard, “does it even work?”  Of course it does!  You see the results don’t you?  I was a skeptic going into it as well, but I promise you, oh boy does it ever work!!

I think the best part about living the Nutrisystem lifestyle so far is going out for a family day in new, smaller clothes.  My family and I don’t get to go out too often, but in three days we will be having a much needed family day.  Las Vegas is a couple hour drive away from where I live, and we will all be loading into the car and having a day of fun.  First the mall, then Toys R Us, then Chuck E Cheese, and possibly some of the kid friendly casinos for even more fun…possibly Circus Circus!  I normally am not very excited to venture out with three children, but I’m beginning to think that was all the way I felt about myself.  I have super cute new clothes that I wouldn’t have been able to dream about fitting into 11 weeks ago, I feel great, have more energy, and I’m ready to have the time of my life.

I hope you all stay with me over the next 12 weeks, I can’t wait to see what progress I make and share it with all of you.

Week 11 On Nutrisystem…Bring On The Energy And Fun Spring Adventures #NSNation #Ad

Week 11 of my Nutrisystem journey is here and I have never felt better.  So far I am down an incredible 17.4 lbs, and am gaining energy more and more every day.  I didn’t think anyone else would notice, but my husband certainly has.  He said to me just last night “You know what I’ve noticed since you started Nutrisystem?  You have a lot more energy!”  And he’s absolutely right, I certainly do.

kidsoutside.jpg

I find myself telling my kids more than ever now, “turn off the games and t.v., we’re going outside.”  We live in Arizona and it is warming up quite nicely here.  We have spent the past couple weeks outside looking for bugs and lizards, and of course just running around playing and having fun.  Even though I just turned 32, I feel better now than I did in my twenties and I can’t wait to continue this journey.  I have been blessed to be sponsored for another 12 weeks so keep checking back every week for great updates.

Week 10 On Nutrisystem…Spring Weather Here I Come!! #NSNation #Ad

O_64b0fea1b7e98c5c5b71df2f84ff768cnutrisystem_logo

Spring is here and the weather has been lovely!  Before starting my Nutrisystem journey, I would’ve enjoyed the spring sights and sounds from my porch.  With the weight melting away I am finding myself more and more eager to get out and about, and get my whole family active and moving.

walkcollage.jpg

My favorite way to get my daily exercise in is walking.  There’s a ton of open space to explore in rural area that I live in, and the whole family has been benefiting from spending time in the beautiful outdoors, disconnected from the electronics, and engaging each other in conversation.

This week brings me to a total of 16.2 lbs lost!  Living in Arizona means that 100+ degree weather is on the way, and that cute bathing suit I have my eye on is looking more and more attainable every day.   If you’ve ever considered joining Nutrisystem, there is no time like the present!  Be sure to visit them on Facebook as well as Twitter…there is such great support!!

Week 9 On Nutrisystem…Feeling Great! #NSNation #Ad

O_64b0fea1b7e98c5c5b71df2f84ff768cnutrisystem_logo

Starting week 9 on Nutrisystem and I have to say, I’m feeling GREAT!!!  There is no better thing to gain while losing weight than confidence.  I have started to feel a lot better about my outward appearance and even though I still have a ways to go, I am VERY proud of the progress I have made so far.  I have had to start wearing a smaller size clothes and am finding myself choosing clothing that fits my body rather than wear a baggy t-shit to hide it.

Wearing size-appropriate clothes also lets others see the progress I’ve made as well.  Yesterday while shopping at a local dollar store my husband and I ran into some friends we hadn’t seen in three months.  Both of our friends immediately commented on “how good” I look, and congratulated me on my hard work.  I must admit, that’s a nice thing to hear!  Yes, I am working on being happier and healthier for myself and my family, but it’s nice to hear that the progress is noticeable, and more importantly that the Nutrisystem program actually WORKS!!

I can tell you until I’m blue in the face how well the program works, but there is no better thing to make you a believer than you seeing the results for yourself.  Keep in mind I still have about 40 lbs to lose to my final goal, but so far, I’m loving the Nutrisystem life.  I will once again share the DREADED before picture so you don’t have to hunt it down, and you will I’m sure be able to see the difference for yourself 🙂 .

Week 8 On Nutrisystem…Hello Bag Of Old Clothes! #NSNation #Ad

O_64b0fea1b7e98c5c5b71df2f84ff768cnutrisystem_logo

I am LOVING the way Nutrisystem makes me feel.  The food is great, it fuels my body, and the results are starting to become very noticeable.  I’m so happy to have abandoned my clothes, and I am loving bringing out clothes that have been tucked away in my closet for a couple years.  My official weight in for the end of week 7 is a total loss of 14.2 lbs!  I’ve even had to go down a size in underwear because they just kept falling off.  I’m not one who likes change, but that’s a change I’ll gladly take.

I love the slimmer me, of course, but what’s even better is how I’m starting to feel.  I feel more confident, happier, healthier, and more energetic.  I feel like I am finally becoming the mom my children deserve, a healthy and active one.  I’m having a great time getting out for some fresh air and exercise with my kids, and we are actually spending more time together because of it.  There are so many great benefits of Nutrisystem and they just keep coming.  I can’t wait to check in with you all next week 🙂

Week 7 On Nutrisystem…There’s No Chocolate Like ‘Diet’ Chocolate #NSNation #Ad

O_64b0fea1b7e98c5c5b71df2f84ff768cnutrisystem_logo

Oh. My. Goodness.  The Nutrisystem life just keeps getting better and better!  My official weigh in after week 6 brings me to a total of 12 lbs lost!  I can’t believe how incredibly easy it is to lose weight following the Nutrisystem plan.  I love being able to just grab something that sounds great and eat it.  There’s no debating back and forth in my mind whether I should/shouldn’t have it, I can just simply eat what I want…guilt free!

I was a little worried when I first started the plan that the food would be bland, and there wouldn’t be many options that I liked.  Man, was I ever wrong.  I have only had 3 things I haven’t liked, and I’ve tried virtually the whole menu now so that’s not a bad record.  All of the food is tremendously amazing, and I can even have chocolate on days where I’m really craving it.  The lunch bars are usually chocolate coated and those really help save me on days where I want something sweet.  I think my favorite lunch bar is the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar.  I get to have something on the Nutrisystem plan that makes me feel like I’m splurging without spoiling all of the dedication I’ve put in thus far.

As if delicious lunches weren’t enough, I really have to say that the dessert options are totally rockin’!  My birthday was last week and I was able to have the Nutrisystem Chocolate Cupcake so I could celebrate my birthday with a delicious treat without the high amount of calories.  What an incredible way to lose weight…being full all day and still being able to have chocolate!!!
