Week 4 on Nutrisystem…Who Knew Weight Loss Could Be So Simple?? #NSNation #Sponsored

Well, here I am starting week 4 on Nutrisystem, and I have to say I just keep finding myself more pleased with the program every single day.

The food is incredibly delicious, more so than I thought it would ever be.  Besides the benefit of the great tasting food, the program is just so simple to follow that it’s almost fool-proof.  I love that I don’t have to think about calories, inspect my food labels, measure or weigh my foods…any busy mom of 3 like myself just wouldn’t be able to keep up with that and inevitably fail.  I keep my Nutrisystem foods organized so all I have to do is go look at what’s in my breakfasts, lunches, dinners, or snacks, pick what sounds good, and eat it.  It really is just that simple!

I was SO pleased when I stepped on the scale this morning and saw that number on the scale!  This week I was down another 1.4 lbs to make a total of 8 lbs.  In three weeks I find that incredibly good and can’t wait to achieve my goal together with Nutrisystem.  My clothes are already starting to become bigger as I shrink out of them and that’s a pretty amazing feeling.  I can’t wait to see how next week goes, wish me luck!!

Week 1 On Nutrisystem…Let’s Get This Party Started! #NSNation #Sponsored

I am BEYOND ready to get started on my Nutrisystem program!  After having 3 kids I found myself very unhappy with the weight that just never seemed to go away.  Before I had kids I would fluctuate between 125 and 130 lbs and considered myself to be a pretty healthy person.

I lost my father when he was only 57 years old and all of his health issues that caused his death were because of his obesity.  When he passed away he was 350 lbs and his heart just couldn’t function any more.  He had been diabetic for years and refused to take care of himself.  He had high blood pressure and ignored his doctor’s recommendations so it only got worse.  Before his death he was at risk of having one of his feet amputated due to the diabetes and he didn’t do anything, again, to help the situation get better…he would call me bragging about the 6 cupcakes he ate for breakfast.  Because of all of these issues my dad’s heart became enlarged (it was double the “average” size) and it couldn’t pump anymore, it just quit.  Although I miss my dad terribly every day, there are times where I feel a little anger towards him.  Why didn’t he take better care of himself?  Why didn’t he see the obesity was causing his slow death and just get healthy?  If he just made a few small changes would he still be here?

THIS is my motivation.  I have three of the most beautiful children in the world and I would hate to inflict the same pain on them because I didn’t do something to improve my health.  I will not let my children lose their mother at an early age and have any sort of anger towards me because I could’ve solved the problem by simply getting healthier.  I WILL be around for a long time to see them grow and flourish into wonderful human beings.

So here I am, starting my Nutrisytem journey.  I am currently 180 lbs and SO ready for this change.  For my first week I am doing the Turbo 10, which is basically an accelerated weight loss program to get you started on the right foot.  The  Turbo 10 program has 7 breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, as well as 7 Turbo shakes, and 7 Nutricrush shakes.

The Turbo 10 will also come with the Turbo Takeoff booklet that will be your key to succeeding this first week.  Be sure to read everything!  There is TONS of useful information and great suggestion to help you stay on track.

I can’t wait to check in with all of you next week!  Wish me luck!!!

Inside the cooler are some pretty tasty looking things!  (Carefully remove the dry ice included before digging into the contents.)

This is the entire frozen shipment which contains 10 breakfasts, 10 lunches, 10 dinners, and 10 snacks (aka desserts).  For breakfast I received 2 days of buttermilk waffles, 2 days of thick sliced french toast, 5 days of turkey ham and cheese omelets, and once cinnamon roll.  For lunch there is a chicken mozzarella melt, 3 chicken fajita melts, a meatball parmesan melt, 2 southwest fajita melts, a broccoli and cheese melt, and 2 steak and cheese melts.  For dinner we have 2 mushroom stuffed chicken breasts, a broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken breast, roast turkey medallions, salisbury steak with mac and cheese, ravioli formaggio, stuffed shells, Italian sausage and turkey pizza, and 2 margherita pizzas.  The snacks all look delicious!  The snacks are 2 ice cream sandwiches, 3 fudge bars, a chocolate brownie sundae, 2 orange creme bars, and 2 red velvet whoopie pies.

I’m doing the Turbo 10 program which is one week to help turbo boost your weight loss.

The picture above is what is included in the Turbo 10 box.  There are 7 days of breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as turbo shakes and nutricrush (hunger crushing) shakes.  You’ll eat a delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as enjoying two rich chocolatey shakes each day on the first week with the Turbo 10.

The shelf stable shipment has so many delicious looking things as well, I’m interested to see how well they taste.

The shelf stable box contained so much food!  There are 15 dinners which include: 4 cheese and spinach ravioli with meat sauce, a stanta fe style white chicken with brown rice, hickory smoke flavored beef patty, chicken pasta parmesan, thick crust pizza, italian herb flatbread pizza, chicken alfredo, chili with beans, meatloaf with potatoes, lasagna with meat sauce, rotini with meatballs and tomato sauce, and vegatable lasagna.

Lunch has tasty looking items too (of course!).  There are 15 lunches which include: cheesy homestyle potatoe, three cheese pasta with chicken, 3 cheese tortellini’s, chicken noodle soup, beans and ham soup, 2 fudge graham bars, 2 chocolate PB bars, 2 double chocolate caramel bars, a trail mix bar, and black beans and rice.

Breakfast looks like it will be my favorite meal of the day 🙂 . The breakfast’s I received are: one granola cereal, 2 nutriflakes cereals, an apple strudel bar, 2 peanut butter granola bars, a cinnamon bun bar, harvest nut bar, chewy chocolate chip granola bar, 2 maple sugar oatmeals, 2 apple cinnamon oatmeals, a blueberry muffin, double chocolate muffin, banana nut muffin, and cinnamon bun.

The snacks will be used as my desserts…they will help me satisfy my sweet tooth and stay on track.  The snacks are: chocolate chip cookies, cheese puffs, honey mustard pretzel bits, chocolate caramel bar, walnut chocolate chip cookies, coconut almond bar, chocolately nougat bar, 2 peppermint cookie patties, popcorn, golden pound cake, 2 chocolate cakes, 2 fudge brownies, and pretzels.

You will also receive shakes that help you stay on track with ease.  You can easily use these in place of some of your snacks and get that little extra bit of “sweet” if you’re craving it.

Nutrisystem sent me everything I need to succeed and I’m so excited to be sharing this journey with all of you!  I will be posting about the meals on instagram so make sure to follow me there if you’re interested!

Getting Healthy In The New Year With Nutrisystem #NSNATION #SPONSORED

Unless you’ve been living under a rock or in the dark ages, chances are you have heard of Nutrisystem.  I am so happy to announce that I am one of the newest members of the Nutrisystem Nation!  For the next three months, beginning January 11th, I will be sharing my journey with you all weekly!

Many of you know that I have been on a weight loss journey for quite some time now.  I don’t believe in medication or surgery to lose weight so it’s been a lot of hard work and determination to lose what I have.  At my heaviest, I was 207 pounds and very unhappy with myself.  A couple of years ago I decided it was time to better myself and my health…I have three kids that I want to live a long time for.  I have lost 27 pounds which I am very proud of, but still have a ways to go.

Before having children I wouldn’t have considered myself ‘skinny’, but I wouldn’t have considered myself ‘fat’ either.  The Lord kinda blessed me in the chest area, so a healthy looking weight for my is around 125-130 lbs…anything less and I look like a twig with boobs! HA!  I was able to maintain a healthy weight and live an active lifestyle full of fun and adventure.  After every pregnancy, I kept most of the weight that was gained.  Of course being a busy mother I had no time to do much about it but look in the mirror with disappointment.  Where did the old me go?

I can’t believe I’m ACTUALLY sharing these pictures with you, but this is me currently.  Large, in charge, and full of self-loathing.  Although I’m thankful for the 27 pounds I have lost on my own, I’m not happy with my current appearance.  Never in a million years did I ever imagine sharing these photos of myself, but it’s the only way you guys will see the results as I progress through Nutrisystem.  I have read many success stories and I am very hopeful that being part of the NSNation will help me learn to be healthier, re-learn to eat correct portions, and get back to the old me that my kids deserve.  Make sure you look for my weekly updates starting in a few weeks, I’m so excited to go on this journey and if it helps even JUST ONE of you, the embarrassment of sharing my ‘before’ photos is all worth it.

Detour Peanut Butter Chocolate Smart Bars Review

Detour Smart Bars
now come in a new flavor, Peanut Butter Chocolate! If you remember from last time I reviewed Smart Bars, I absolutely loved them. The Cranberry Flax was simply perfection, but the Peanut Butter Chocolate Smart Bars are EVEN BETTER!!

Smart Bars get their name for a reason…it’s one of the smartest decisions you will probably make all day if you have one of these. The Detour Smart Bars are made with whole grains, they are gluten free, only have 4 grams of sugar, and are a great source of fiber. I love to have one for breakfast, the 11 grams of protein help give me energy naturally and gives me a little extra pep in my step.

The Greek yogurt drizzle on top is like the icing on the cake so-to-speak. It makes you feel like you are having something more sinful than you really are, and that’s something I think everyone can appreciate. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Smart Bars have the perfect texture, not too chewy, and not too hard. The ingredients all blend beautifully well together, so well that I can even trick my kids into eating something good for them! Hooray! The Peanut Butter Chocolate Smart Bars are so good in so many ways, I hope you take my advice and try them out in the very near future.

Pure Organics Review

I really don’t know where to start other than oh my deliciousness. Time after time, Pure Organics has amazed me with the tastiest products that taste like they should be a sin to eat but they’re so good for you! I might need to invest in some Pure Organics stock, because my pantry is bound to be overtaken with their products in the very near future.

Pure (1)

The Ancient Grains bars were incredibly tasty. It is almost as impossible to choose a favorite Pure Organics as it would be to choose a favorite child but I think these may have been my favorite of the products. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Bar tasted like something that should’ve been triple the calories and loaded in saturated fats. I love the feeling of indulgence and satisfaction while knowing I didn’t ruin my entire daily caloric intake. The Triple Berry Nut Ancient Grains Bar was simple yet delicious and oh so filling. I have never been the biggest blueberry fan, but the Wild Blueberry Bar rocked my socks off. Packed with flavors that are irresistible this will be the favorite bar of anyone. The Apple Cinnamon Bar was also just as delicious as the rest. I loved the chunks of real walnuts, it’s a mice crunchy treat 🙂 . The added benefit I have been LOVING from these bars is the little energy kick I get. With all the goodness packed inside Pure Organics Bars you get the energetic feeling naturally, not from harsh stimulants like coffee. I have been replacing my breakfast with the Pure Bars and I love how long the full feeling lasts! The calorie count being incredibly low, they are also good at aiding weight loss. There is so much goodness that comes from one small bar, it’s unbelievable!

Pure (2)

These I did not get to try, but instead were polished off by my 2 year old. I often try and get her to eat more nutritious snacks, but she quickly notices the taste and refuses to eat it. This was not the case with the Pure Organics fruit treats. The Strawberry Apple Fruit & Veggie Strip was my little one’s favorite. She polished it off in under a minute and was asking for more. The Pineapple Passionfruit Fruit Sandwich also went over well with my toddler. She loved every bite and wad trying to climb shelves in the pantry to look for another.

I don’t know how Pure Organics did it, but they have a tasty appealing product every age group is sure to enjoy.

Life and Food Garcinia Cambogia Supreme Review

The Life & Food Garcinia Cambogia Supreme has completely knocked my socks off! I’m loving the quick and awesome results that I am seeing both in the mirror and on the scale.

The Garcinia Cambogia Supreme has 1400 mg per capsule, and is extremely effective and has really surprised me. I have tried a different brand of Garcinia Cambogia before, and the results were visible on the scale, but not by much. This is not the case with Life & Food Garcinia Cambogia. My average weight loss is .8 lbs per week, which isn’t a lot but it’s something. I have taken the Life & Food Garcinia Cambogia for one full week now, and I have a loss of 3 lbs this week alone! That’s simply amazing!

The way that Garcinia Cambogia works is by first off helping to curb your appetite, and follows up by inhibiting the growth of fat. These are maximum strength pills, so make sure you consult a doctor before taking them as you would any other medication. I tend to have problems with my blood sugar running low so I had to be a little cautious. I had to start eating smaller portions and more frequently because I noticed that the Garcninia Cambogia was burning off my sugars quickly, and with my sugar level already running low on an average it was making me a little shaky. After just adjusting to eating smaller portions more frequently I am happy to report there have been no side effects and I am feeling great!

Ozeri WeightMaster Digital Bathroom Scale Review

If you’re looking for a new bathroom scale, I highly recommend the Ozeri Weight Master Digital Bathroom Scale. It has a weight limit of up to 400 lbs, so just about ever consumer would be able to use their product comfortably.

The Ozeri scale is made from reinforced tempered glass and has a beautiful modern and simple appeal. The LCD screen is very bright and clear (which was not done justice in the photo) and super easy to read without any confusion. You can program up to 5 users and see your actual weight loss or gain. If your see a green portion on the LCD screen, you’ve lost weight, good job! If you see a red section, that means that you’ve put on some weight. One function that I fell in love with is the BMI calculator. When you program your user profile, you can also put in your height, and the scale will let you track your body mass index without having to look it up separately which I find super helpful.

I love how sleek and compact the Ozeri scale is. My bathroom is a pretty open floor plan. There was nowhere to put the scale, other than where the linen closet in my bathroom is, without it being in the middle of the floor. I figured it would be a pain in the butt to have to move the scale every time I need to get into the linen closet, but it’s so compactly designed that I can open the door with the scale sitting where it is.

Overall this is the best bathroom scale that I have ever tried and I think everyone needs to get one.

Xium Garcinia Cambogia Review

As many of you know, I am not typically a fan of taking any kind of anything to aid in losing weight. I’ve recently learned about Garcinia Cambogia, and was really intrigued. I’ve heard Dr. Oz talk about Garcinia Cambogia on his show, so I thought I would go ahead and give this stuff a whirl.

I came across Xium Garcinia Cambogia, and it just seemed like the right one for me. Not too high of a mg, and not too low. I didn’t know what to expect, as it’s an extremely rare occasion that I take anything to help with weight loss. I figured the worst that could happen, is it wouldn’t work.

As soon as I started taking the Xium Garcinia Cambogia, I did notice a difference in appetite. During the parts of the day where I feel starving even though I shouldn’t be because I’d already eaten, I no longer feel the need to snack constantly. I’m finding myself satisfied with smaller than usual portions all while not feeling like I’m missing out on anything.

I weigh myself weekly, and I have a steady weight loss without much fluctuation. This weeks weight loss had an added .2 lbs dropped! I couldn’t believe that I was starting to see results so quickly! I can’t wait to see what I can get accomplished with Xium Garcinia Cambogia. Here’s hoping for a happier, healthier me.

P28 High Protein Foods Review and Giveaway

P28 High Protein Foods are full of amazing goodness. I’m always looking for high protein foods for a couple of different reasons. I like high protein foods because they have a nice little natural energy kick. As you all know, my weight loss journey began December 30th, 2012, and I’m down 41 lbs so far! Early on in my journey, I realized how important high protein foods were to fuel my body along the way. I also like to keep high protein foods around, because they help my 8 year old son fuel his body and muscles. I’ve always had a problem with him being thin and tall and lanky, and high protein seems to help him build a bit more muscle.

I love the bread and bagels in the morning with some of the high protein peanut butters. It helps to start my day off right and helps set the tone for a good day. Making sure the kids get a nice dose of protein enriched foods in the morning is seeming to help their concentration throughout the day with school work. I homeschool my boys, and a little extra focus has made the school day go much smoother.

The High Protein Flats have been really nice to have around. Get creative with last nights leftovers and make wraps for lunch the next day. Picky eaters? Make a peanut butter and jelly roll up, and any kid is sure to be happy. Quesedillas are tasty made from the Flats as well. The possibilities are endless…the only question is, can you keep enough on hand to keep u with all of your creations?

P28 Foods has also been generous enough to sponsor a giveaway! One lucky winner will get a loaf of P28 and a jar of their choice of spread! Giveaway will begin on 12/14/13 at 12:00 am EST and end on 12/21/13 at 12:00 am EST. Winner will have 48 hours to claim their prize or another winner will be chosen.
